A rubber runner is a long, narrow length of rubber matting laid along a corridor, alley or walkway to give grip and protect the floor. The rubber floor runners here come in widths from 90cm to 2.4m, in coin, checker, ribbed, willow and smooth tops, with many sold up to 10m or 15m long.
Choosing a runner for the route
For indoor corridors, a 1m or 1.2m coin or fine ribbed roll gives grip without making trolleys drag. The 10m x 90cm hollow rubber mat has open holes, which suits wet entrances and wash-down routes. For livestock passages and wide alleys, the 2.1m and 2.4m alley mats cover the full width.
Runner rubber mats stay straightest when they run wall to wall or are fixed at the ends, so they cannot be kicked out of line.
Corridor rolls sit within heavy duty rolls. Muddy routes that need to drain in one direction suit wide-ribbed rubber rolls, where the ribs channel dirt and water.
Outdoor routes over grass are covered by outdoor rubber walkway mats.
